Few regions in the world can catch the extraordinary beauty of the South African lowveld and escarpment. Magnificent scenery, striking fauna and flora, panoramic passes and valleys, waterfalls and forests abound. The 1870's gold rush era and a wealth of fascinating tribal legends add to the fascination of this region. This is also big animal country, with the famous Kruger National Park and several luxurious private reserves on its borders and dozens of sanctuaries teeming with wildlife and birds Tour departs from Johannesburg. Accommodation at Safari Lodge / Pretorius Camp. Dinner bed & breakfast. Tour returns to Johannesburg. Day 1 - Depart from Johannesburg or Pretoria by air-conditioned mini bus. Visit the Lisbon and Berlin waterfalls. God's Window will provide one of the most spectacular endless views, stretching across miles of thickly forested mountains and lush, fertile valleys. Water erosion formed the intriguing Bourke's Luck potholes. The Blyde River Canyon, a gigantic gorge, is one of the natural wonders of Africa. Tonight we shall stay in Hazyview only 12 km from the Numbi gate of the Kruger Park. Day 2 - waken at dawn and listen to the sounds of the wild. After tea or coffee drive out of camp hoping to view the "big five". (lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo, rhino). Return to your camp for breakfast and then spend the rest of the day with us looking for herds of wildebeest and zebra or those elusive animals you have missed in the morning. After lunch and a siesta join the optional night game drive in an open vehicle or relax at one of the water-holes waiting for animals to quench their thirst. Tonight you may go on a night game drive where, with the aid of a powerful spotlight, you will see a wide variety of nocturnal animals. Enjoy a barbecue dinner and stay over at one of the camps in Kruger Park. Day 3 - Leave the camp for another early morning game drive. Thereafter, we depart from the reserve for brunch en route to Johannesburg. Continue through the beautiful Elands Valley and up to the Highveld for lunch. Arrive back not later than 16h00 before the rush hour. Day 4 - Leave the camp for another early morning game drive. Depart from the reserve for brunch on route to Johannesburg and Pretoria.
