18 Days Kenya and Mt. Kilimanjaro Safari

Day 1 - Meet and greet at Nairobi airport then transfer to a Nairobi Hotel for overnight.
Booked on B/O.

Day 2 - Depart from Nairobi and drive to Bogoria, a saline Rift Valley lake famous for its concentration of flamingos and a spectrum of other birds. You arrive in time for lunch and in the late afternoon you go for a Game walking safari on the shores of Lake Bogoria. Dinner and overnight at Lake Bogoria Hotel. B/L/D

Day 3 - Depart after breakfast and drive northwards to lake Baringo, another of the Rift Valley lakes which is moderately alkaline, You check-in at the Lake Baringo Country Club and later go for a boat ride to view birds, hippos and crocodiles and then visit the Njemps people who live close to the lake for a cultural tour of their village. Dinner and overnight at the Lake Baringo Country Club. B/L/D

Day 4 - After breakfast drive to Lake Nakuru National Park. Lake Nakuru is a world famous bird sanctuary with more than one million flamingoes. After our afternoon game drive in the park, we retreat to the lodge for dinner and overnight. B/L/D

Day 5 - Take an early morning game drive then return back to the Lodge for breakfast and drive to Hells Gate National Park for an afternoon talk a game walk. Return back to the Lodge for dinner and overnight. B/L/D

Day 6 - Take a boat ride round Lake Naivasha for some close encouter with the hippos and also veriaty of bird spicies. then drive along the edge of the escarpment as we enjoy good views of the Great Rift Valley with its volcanic mountains and softly rolling hills headed for Masai Mara, one of the greatest wildlife spectacles in East Africa. We arrive at a Lodge in time for lunch, in the afternoon we take a late afternoon game drive then back to the lodge for dinner and overnight. B/L/D

Day 7 - Spend the whole day driving through different locations in the mara game reserve and watching animals as they feed or groom each other. Return back to the Lodge for dinner and overnight. B/L/D

Day 8 - Before returning back to Nairobi, take an early morning game drive then return back to the Lodge for breakfast. Arriving Nairobi in the afternoon. Overnight at a Nairobi Hotel booked on B/B.

Day 9 - Leave Nairobi early and drive southeastwards to Amboseli National Park. With its backdrop of the snow-capped Mount Kilimanjaro (Africa's highest mountain) and the abundant wildlife, Amboseli is a real spectacle. This is where you are most likely to see large herds of elephants and plains game. We arrive at a Lodge in time for lunch, in the afternoon we take a late afternoon game drive then back to the lodge for dinner and overnight. B/L/D

Day 10 - We spend the whole day driving through different locations in the Amboseli National park and watching animals as they feed or groom each other. Return back to the lodge for dinner and overnight. B/L/D

Day 11 - Take an early morning game drive then return back to the Lodge for breakfast and drive to Kenya - Tanzania borber to connect with a shulle bus to Arusha, ariving by 6.00pm. Dinner and overnight at a Hotel in Arusha. B/B

Day 12 - You transfer to Machame Gate to begin the climb. Climb to Machame Hut, walking along a gentle climb through forest then up to the overnight stop on the edge of the forest. Overnight camping in mountain tents by Machame Hut (3 000 metre). B/L/D

Day 13 - Rising early, you cross a valley and a stream and then climb up a steep ridge for 3-4 hours. The path then drops into the river gorge before you climb more gently onto the moorland of the Shira Plateau, one of the most fascinating areas of the Mountain. Overnight camping in mountain tents by the Shira Hut (3 840 metre). B/L/D

Day 14 - Today you will walk for 5-6 hours, enjoying sightings of the typical Kilimanjaro Mountain vegetation (Senecios, Lobelia, Helichrysum) and rewarding views of the spectacular Barranco Valley. Overnight camping in Mountain tents by the Barranco Hut (3 950 metre). B/L/D

Day 15 - From the Barranco Hut, you walk across screes and ridges to Karanga (4 100 metre) with breathtaking views of the West Breach and the southern glacier. About 2 hours from Karanga you will come out on the Barafu path (part of the Mweka Trail). It is a further 1- 2 hours to Barafu Hut where you stay overnight in Mountain tents (4 600 metre). B/L/D

Day 16 - You rise early in the morning and begin the climb to the summit by the light of the full moon. You pass through the gap between the Ratzel and Rebmann glaciers and continue to Uhuru peak (5,896 metre) where you can watch the sunrise from the rooftop of Africa! You then descend to Mweka Hut via the Mweka Route for your overnight stay in Mountain tents (3 100 metre). B/L/D

Day 17 - Descending to the Mweka Gate, you then continue by vehicle to a Hotel in Moshi for Dinner and overnight. B/B

Day 18 - Connect with the shuttle bus for a return jorney back to Nairobi to connect with your flight back home.
